The safety pin & the colour orange
The APS safety pin symbolises a commitment to raising awareness of patient safety among healthcare professionals and the general public.
At the same time, it is a call to action to champion patient safety.
Please support the APS and its partners in further establishing the safety pin as a symbol of patient safety in Germany. Please use our templates (under ‘Materials’) to publicise your campaign. This will help raise awareness and strengthen the APS network concept.
The colour orange, as the signal colour for patient safety, should receive greater attention. There is a global call to illuminate well-known landmarks in orange on World Patient Safety Day and to share the images via digital networks – and this is also happening in Germany. The Brandenburg Gate was one of the first landmarks to be illuminated in orange.
Please feel free to send us your photos by email to presse@aps-ev.de. We look forward to publishing them on the World Patient Safety Day website.
